2020 Summit Bid: Locals

Editor’s Note: The Summit Bid, the ACC’s silent auction is back for another year and hosted online - win big on experiences, art and gear while supporting the ACC!

Since our inception more than 110 years ago, the ACC has been deeply committed to shaping meaningful mountain culture, defining responsible outdoor leadership, and advocating for the preservation of Canada’s mountain environment. Auction bids directly fund this continuing legacy and we thank you for your support!

The auction site will be live Sept 1st here, where your auction bids directly fund the ACC’s Greatest Need Fund.

The auction will include great gear, fantastic experiences and exceptional mountain art. Browse the LOCAL offerings below to learn more about them.

Mountain Locals

Because our national office is based in Canmore, we've been able to work closely with local organizations to provide a wide selection of auction donations specific to the Rockies. This year, we've decided to highlight these local businesses with their own auction dates this year during the Summit Bid. Local support comes in the form of gear, food and drink, experiences and gift cards for whatever your heart desires!

We were established 75 years ago by John Monod, a Swiss mountain guide and ski instructor. John was attracted to the spectacular Canadian Rockies by a sense of pioneering spirit and love of the mountains. He set up his 1st shop at Sunshine Lodge (now known as Sunshine Village ski Area) in 1949.

The business model that John Monod established in 1949 was to provide quality products to quality minded people with good honest service and advice. To do that, Monod Sports remains a shop catering to clients one on one. We're not just a so called "stand alone web store". Talking to our customers face to face is what gives us the experience and knowledge to provide our customers with the highest level of service.

At Wild Life Distillery (WLD), we have made this approach to lifestyle and the craft distilling industry our personal commitment. By constant pursuit of personal betterment, we are on a path of continuous learning and growth in our industry. Extreme attention to detail is a result of this mentality, and we demonstrate this through all of our processes at the distillery. We are passionate about what we do, and look forward to sharing this passion with you.

Banff Ave Brewing Co. was founded in 2010, five years after the opening of its sister brewpub Jasper Brewing Co. In a similar spirit as Jasper, the brewpub has developed into a beer culture hotbed for locals and tourists alike. Drawing strength from the dynamic Banff community and inspiration from the Rocky Mountains and wildlife, Banff Ave Brewing Co. is a central hub not to be missed in the National Parks.

DONATION: Gift card and complete prize pack.

Winter backcountry travel is exploding in popularity. More people than ever before are taking their skiing outside of resort boundaries. But lacking education and awareness of avalanche hazard can prove fatal for you or for your partners and completing an AST1 course is now considered almost a mandatory requirement before venturing into the backcountry.

DONATION: AST 1 course.
