2020 Summit Bid: Mountain Gear

Editor’s Note: The Summit Bid, the ACC’s silent auction is back for another year and hosted online - win big on experiences, art and gear while supporting the ACC!

Since our inception more than 110 years ago, the ACC has been deeply committed to shaping meaningful mountain culture, defining responsible outdoor leadership, and advocating for the preservation of Canada’s mountain environment. Auction bids directly fund this continuing legacy and we thank you for your support!

The auction site is currently live here, where your auction bids directly fund the ACC’s Greatest Need Fund.

The auction will include great gear, fantastic experiences and exceptional mountain art. Browse the GEAR contributors below to learn more about them.

Mountain Gear

It’s undeniable that good gear will help boost the enjoyment of an outdoor experience - the further you get out there, the more important it becomes!

We've gathered a variety of gear that’ll get you outside with confidence and we’re proud to highlight these supporters.

Our goal is to inspire the next generation of explorers and conservationists by helping them discover nature's playground. The average American child spends 44 hours each week engaged with electronic media. Ultimately, we own the responsibility to inspire and develop the next generation of athletes and enthusiasts.

To help ignite a global movement of outdoor exploration, love for the natural world and an unwavering commitment to protect it, we welcome new participants to the outdoors. In addition to these activities, we extend our reach through support of non-profit organizations, establishing programs that connect participants with close-to-home recreation opportunities, and creating a connection with young leaders, inspiring them to explore and conserve.

DONATION: Mountain 25 2-person tent

We stand behind everything we make. We promise to make our products with incredible attention to comfort, fit, and durability—because we want you to love our gear as much as we do.

And we want it to be able to support all of your adventures, from exploring new cities to summiting new mountains. So if, for any reason, you aren’t completely happy with your Smartwool® gear within two years of purchasing, we’ll get you into some new gear. No problem.

DONATION: A ton of socks!

It's shocking to think that it's been over 35 years since we cranked up the Metolius Climbing machine. Getting our start in Doug Phillips' tiny garage near the headwaters of the Metolius River (from where we take our name), none of us could have envisioned where climbing would be in 25 years or that we would even still be in the business of making climbing gear. In the 1980s, the choices one had for climbing equipment were fairly limited & much of the gear then was un-tested, uncomfortable, inadequate or unavailable. Many solved this problem by making their own equipment, the Metolius crew included.

DONATION: Several climbing packs!
