Summer is coming!

That's right, summer. It's now officially time to start planning for next year's hiking and flower season at the Elizabeth Parker Hut at Lake O'Hara.

The EP Hut in summertime is one of the most popular huts in the ACC hut network, and with good reason. The hut is beautiful and the Lake O'Hara area with it's outstanding hiking and stunning scenery is famous around the world.

Because of the popularity of the hut, reservations are made via a lottery system every autumn for the next summer and that lottery is now open.

Lottery Details

Here's how the lottery works:

  • The lottery is for EP Hut overnights from June 19 to October 4, 2015.
  • The lottery opened last week (October 22) and will close on November 22, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MST. All entries during the lottery period have the same chance of being chosen.
  • There is a $10 fee for each lottery entry. People can enter the lottery for multiple dates or multiple times for the same date.
  • ACC membership is not required to enter the lottery but it is required (with Facilities Upgrade) at the time of booking.
  • Lottery winners will be notified by December 1, 2014.
