Bow Hut Maintenance Trip
Editor's note: It's shoulder season on the Wapta - in between the busyness of winter ski trips and summer mountaineering. The ACC maintenance team and volunteers took advantage of the down time and spent seven days at Bow Hut giving the hut a thorough makeover from May 30-June 5, 2017.
Here's what we got up to
- Sanded and painted the main living area and breezeway.

- Ripped the carpet off the benches, added some plywood and a stain (the old carpet had been on these seats for 17 years!)

- Installed isolation valves on all propane fixtures and replaced broken windows

- Gave the hut the deepest clean it's ever seen.

- Brought in some new chairs and gave it a fresh coat of paint, et voila!
So fresh and so clean.
This heroic effort was followed by a long service day of Peyto, Balfour and Bow Huts. Thanks to Jami-Lynn Hastings-Ginger and Travis McPhee who also joined us as volunteers on this project.
We hope all our members love the new renos we've done for you at the huts this summer!
