The Alpine Club of Canada is now seeking a head chef at Shadow Lake Lodge
Are you excited about nourishing backcountry guests with incredible food, so they can enjoy their vacation to the fullest? The Chef is responsible for executing high-quality meals – infusing fresh ingredients with an imaginative menu. If you love to be in the outdoors, excel in small remote kitchen settings, this opportunity may be for you.
Requirements
• 5 years of culinary experience with varied exposure.
• Must be in good physical shape, required to travel on foot (or bike) to and from the lodge (13km)
• Experience in backcountry menu planning, food presentation, and execution.
• Background in luxury hospitality, fine dining and/or adventure tourism (preferred).
• Outstanding communication skills – able to collect and act on feedback in an effective and timely manner.
• Diploma or certificate in a culinary program preferred or equivalent experience.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Daily rate of pay is based on an 11-hour day, worked as a split shift.
